Mohamed Salah blasts
Mohamed Salah blasts Liverpool and Arne Slot

Mohamed Salah Accuses Liverpool of Breaking Promises and ‘Throwing Him Under the Bus’
Mohamed Salah has launched a fierce attack on Liverpool, claiming the club has broken promises made to him and is trying to make him the scapegoat for recent struggles. The Egyptian forward, left on the bench for Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road, expressed deep frustration with his treatment and hinted at a possible departure in January.

The 33-year-old, who signed a new two-year contract in April after helping Liverpool secure their second Premier League title, revealed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed. “I couldn’t believe it. I’m sitting on the bench for 90 minutes.

It’s the third time, the first in my career,” Salah said. “I’ve done so much for this club, especially last season, and now it feels like they’re throwing me under the bus.”
Salah accused the club of failing to honor commitments made during the summer and suggested that someone within Liverpool “doesn’t want me in the club.” He added: “I had a good relationship with the manager, but suddenly there’s nothing. I don’t know why. It’s very clear someone wants me to get all the blame.”

Despite his disappointment, Salah showed affection for the fans, tapping the badge and waving to supporters after the Leeds draw. Yet his comments underline a growing rift. “I love the club so much, but it’s not acceptable. If I was somewhere else, the club would protect its player. Here, it feels like Mo is the problem, but I don’t think I am.”

Asked about his future, Salah refused to rule out leaving in January. “In football you never know, but I don’t accept this situation,” he said, declining to comment on speculation linking him to the Saudi Pro League. “After what I’ve done for the club, it really hurts. I’ve scored more than anyone in this generation since I came to the Premier League. If I was somewhere else, the media would defend me.

Here, I’m the only one in this situation.”
Salah also pointed to perceived double standards in the media, citing Harry Kane’s goal drought as an example. “When Harry wasn’t scoring for ten games, everyone said, ‘He’ll score for sure.’ When it’s Mo, they say, ‘He needs to be on the bench.’”
With tensions rising and Salah openly questioning his future, Liverpool face a major dilemma heading into the January transfer window.
